Our take with these work forms starts with an oscillation back and forth, across these realms in a spectrum we barely understand as humans. At the smallest end, we question the architecture of unitary bodies from the human body to bacteria
(or smaller), at the other end, we look at our adult cities and wonder if civilisations in outer space exist and if they do, we wonder if our planet as a whole is rural or urban in relationship. We wonder if the relationship even matters at this scale, at this typology-set of thought. As we engage notions of planning starting from Africa—the origin of human community, to other spaces of the world, our work reveals or constructs sustainably useful tendencies of the rural in the urban and the urban in the rural. From the making of things in and on the body, to master minding cities, we explore the pathways of architecture, planning, development and art in increasing the benevolent sustainability of humans and non-humans.
